By accessing or using ReefItUp ("the Service"), operated at reefitup.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
ReefItUp is a reef aquarium management application that allows users to track water parameters, corals, livestock, maintenance logs, and build progress for their saltwater aquariums. The Service also provides a REST API for programmatic access to user data.
3. User Accounts
By creating an account, you agree that:
You will provide accurate information via your Google sign-in
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and API keys
You will not share your API key with unauthorized parties
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
4. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to ReefItUp. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:
Store and display your content within the Service
Make your content available via public share links when you enable that feature
Process and compress uploaded images for storage efficiency
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. Do not upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.
5. API Usage
Use of the ReefItUp API is subject to the following conditions:
API access is limited to 100 requests per day per API key
API keys must be kept confidential and not embedded in client-side code
We reserve the right to revoke API access for abuse or excessive usage
The API is provided for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise agreed
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Circumvent rate limits or other security measures
Scrape or harvest data from the Service without authorization
7. Storage Limits
Each user account is allocated a media storage quota. We reserve the right to enforce storage limits and may require users to reduce their usage if limits are exceeded.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep ReefItUp available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss of data or downtime.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account and data at any time through the application.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at any particular time. ReefItUp is a hobby tracking tool and should not be relied upon as the sole record of critical aquarium data.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReefItUp and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of livestock, or equipment damage arising from your use of the Service.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
